1) Struck on virgin copper blanks with brass plugs.
2) Struck on virgin copper blanks with 999 silver plugs.
     Most have a ¼ inch plug (enlarged after striking).
     The last 103 struck have a 1/8 inch plug (enlarged after striking).

3) Struck on US Mint copper large cents (circa 1816-1856)
     with 999 silver plugs installed (about 0.5 to 0.6 grams per plug).

4) Struck on virgin brass blanks with 999 silver plugs
     Two have normal plug (about 0.5 grams), and two have small plug.

5) Struck on virgin 999 silver blanks (about 8.3 to 9.5 grams each),
     except one at 11.7 grams.

6) Struck on virgin 999 gold blanks (10+ grams each).

7) Six have medal-turn orientation.

8) All have medal-turn orientation.

9) Heat-toned before strike.
     Two have medal-turn orientation.

 

A) Uniface test strikes on virgin copper blanks for a ghosting experiment.
      Each item consists of a brockage pair using a blank die for one side.

B) Obverse (Liberty) die has normal strike, reverse side has blank brockage.

C) Reverse (Chain) die has normal strike, obverse side has blank brockage.
D) Struck on 1mm thick blanks.

E) Struck on 2mm thick blanks.

F) Low tonnage strike (about 35 tons).

     “24K” above “1/2” fraction;
     “JD” (John Dean, dies owner) left of lemon.
     “DC” (Daniel Carr, mint-master) right of lemon.

9) Daniel Carr flying eagle concept dollar die paired with
     Delorey-71 reverse (“1/2 NERVE”). Over-struck on various items such as:
     US Mint dollars (Morgan, Peace, Eisenhower, Sacagawea/Presidents),
     Kennedy half dollars, modern US Mint bronze medals, copper blanks.
     Produced in 2023.

Silver issues are marked “1 TROY OZ.  .999 SILVER” below shield.
Palladium issues are marked “ONE TROY OZ.  .9995 PALLADIUM” below shield.
Gold issues are marked “50 Grams  GOLD 24K” below shield.

1) First issue of 100 has satin-finish tympanum background.
    Second issue of 50 has slightly polished tympanum background.
    The difference between the two is very subtle.

2) Proof-like (polished window pane) on window side.
     Satin finish on shield side.

3) Token And Medal Society (TAMS) issue.
     Shows TAMS logo in place of shield.
    “TAMS 46th Annual Assembly” noted in front of window pane.
     Minted and sold by TAMS. See TAMS 2006 annual medal.
     Ten bronze and ten copper were given a post-strike antique finish.
     Those antiqued medals, along with the 10 aluminum medals,
     were available only in the 10 Special Sets.
     The silver medals in the Special Sets have edge numbers 1 through 10.
4) Individual serial number on edge.
5) Test strike in 2009 with a “1964” Peace Dollar obverse and shield reverse.
