“1815” Classic Head Large Cent – Production Blog

All are over-struck on genuine US Mint Classic Head Large Cents (circa 1808-1814).

Due to a shortage of copper blanks, 1815 was the only year in US Mint history that no one-cent or half-cent coins were minted.

NOTE: These are NOT endorsed by the US Treasury. Defacing of US coins is legal so long as the defacement isn't for fraudulent purposes.
