Catalog with Mintage Statistics for Items Designed and Minted by Daniel Carr /
Moonlight Mint.
“1933”, “1975”, “1975-D”, “1975-S”,
“1999-S”, and “2010-S” Washington Quarters – Production Blog
All are over-struck on genuine US Mint Washington Quarters (circa
1932-1998), unless otherwise noted.
Some were broad-struck and/or multiply struck with moderate shift between
strikes.
In 1932, on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of George Washington’s birth, the first Washington Quarters were minted. But no quarters were minted the following year in 1933. Normal production resumed in 1934.
No Washington Quarters were originally issued with "1975" dates because the "1776-1976" Bicentennial coins were minted during the 1975 and 1976 calendar years. 1998 was the last year for the regular Eagle reverse coins and it was also the last year that the date appeared below the Washington bust. The statehood series started in 1999 and the beautiful America series started in 2010.
NOTE: These are NOT endorsed by the US Treasury. Defacing of US coins is legal so long as the defacement isn't for fraudulent purposes.
Production listed in chronological order - newest production at top, oldest production at bottom.
